Cherry/Cranberry Chip Scones
Ingredients
  • 3 c. flour
  • ½ c. sugar
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 6 T cold butter (no substitutes)
  • 1 c (8 oz) vanilla yogurt
  • ¼ c. + 2 T milk, divided
  • 1 ⅓ c. dried cherries or cranberries
  • ⅔ c. vanilla or white choc chips
Steps
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda.
  2. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Combine yogurt and ¼ c. milk; stir into crumb mixture just until moistened.
  4. Knead in the cherries and chips.
  5. On a greased baking sheet, pat the dough into a 9 inch circle.
  6. Cut into 8 wedges; separate wedges.
  7. Brush with resining milk.
  8. Bake at 400 for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm
