Servings: Makes one 11-in square or 9x13 in baking dish
Ingredients
  • 8 to 10 cups or 24 oz Costco bag frozen mixed berries (thaw if frozen into large chunks)
  • 1 Tbl lemon juice (optional)
  • 1 ½ Tbl arrowroot powder (optional)
  • dash ginger (optional)
  • subheading: Topping:
  • 2 cups oat flour
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup, agave or date syrup
  • ¼ cup almond butter
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp sea salt or miso (optional)
  • cinnamon, and/or coriander and/or cardamom (optional)
Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F.
  2. Put berries in a bowl and mix in any optional seasonings. Place berries in baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, combine all the topping ingredients. Wearing gloves makes mixing the topping easier and cleaner. Rub together with fingers until mixture comes together in small clumps.
  4. Spread the crumble over the fruit.
  5. Bake until golden brown, about 20 to 30 minutes, until berry juice bubbles trough the topping.
  6. Serve warm.
Notes
  • Oat flour - 2 ½ cups of rolled oats makes 2 cups of flour. Pulse rolled oats in a food processor until they reach a flour-like consistency.
