The beauty of this bread is that it doesn't require kneading because it contains no yeast.

Ingredients
  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • ½ c. flour (white OR unbleached)
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1½ c. buttermilk
  • ¼ c. oil
  • ¼ c. honey
  • ¼ c. molasses
  • shortening
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Grease 9x5/8x4 loaf pan
  3. Combine all ingredients; then stir 70 to 80 strokes till batter is well moistened.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan & bake till toothpick inserted into middle comes out clean (app. 40 to 50 mins.).
