  • 1 pound lean ground beef

  • Black pepper
  • 1 (28-ounce) can whole San Marzano tomatoes with their juices
  • ½ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ cup pine nuts or sliced almonds (optional)
  • Pita bread or rice, for serving (optional)
