Ingredients
  • 1 cup brown lentils
  • 3 cups water
Steps
  1. Rinse lentils
  2. Boil in unsalted water for 20-25 minutes or until lentils are at desired consistency (firm for salads, soft for casseroles and stews).
Notes
  • One cup of dried lentils weights 180 grams and produces 425 grams when cooked. 
  • Therefore 180 ml of lentils will be 300 grams cooked 
  • Calculation is multiply weight of dried lentils by 2.4 to calculate the cooked weight.
