- 1 cup brown lentils
- 3 cups water
- Rinse lentils
- Boil in unsalted water for 20-25 minutes or until lentils are at desired consistency (firm for salads, soft for casseroles and stews).
- One cup of dried lentils weights 180 grams and produces 425 grams when cooked.
- Therefore 180 ml of lentils will be 300 grams cooked
- Calculation is multiply weight of dried lentils by 2.4 to calculate the cooked weight.
