Base mix for golden tea/milk

Servings: various
Ingredients
- ½ cup organic ground turmeric
- 2 tsp organic ground black pepper
- 1TBSP organic ground cinnamon
- 1 TBSP organic ground ginger powder
- 1 tsp organic ground cardamom
- 1 tsp organic ground clove
- 1 tsp organic ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp organic vanilla powder**
- ½ cup organic virgin coconut oil
- 1 ¾ cups filtered water
Steps
- Whisk all ingredients over medium heat, bring to boil, stir constantly for 10 minutes (boiling eliminates the bitterness from the turmeric). Cool, store in glass jar in refrigerator, will last several months in fridge.**You can leave out the vanilla powder and use this on roasted veggies, etc., then just add a smidgen of vanilla extract to your cup when making golden milk.
- Mix 1 tsp of paste with 1 cup of liquid of choice (animal or nut milk, tea, coffee, water, etc.), stir, heat if desired. Add honey, maple syrup, or stevia to taste. My favorite is homemade coconut milk.
- OPTIONAL: Can add ½ to 1 cup of honey to cooled paste before refrigerating if you want the base pre-sweetened.
