I got this recipe from a Bisquick flyer in the late '80s, and it has been a family favorite ever since.

Ingredients
  • 1½ cups Bisquick
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbl. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ lb. bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 425°. Grease and flour a 13x9 pan.
  2. Beat together baking mix, ½ cup of the cheese, the milk, syrup, sugar, and eggs with a wire whisk or hand beater until only small lumps remain. Pour into the pan.
  3. Bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bacon and bake 3 to 5 minutes longer until the cheese is melted.
