Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon bacon grease or coconut oil
- 1 onion sliced
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped fine (or pepper of your choice)
- 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
- subheading: 2 to 4 T+ Low Carb Taco Seasoning OR:
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- handful cilantro or culantro
- 1 teaspoon celery salt
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
Steps
- Heat bacon grease or coconut oil and saute onion until translucent.
- Add ground beef, jalapeno pepper, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, cilantro or culantro, celery salt, and salt and pepper. Cook until browned.
- Drain off extra fat and divide into even amounts per the number of tamales you will be making.
- Continue on with Grandma Salazar’s Tamales

- If I made more seasoned hamburger than needed, a couple days later I make Stuffed Poblano Peppers
