Ingredients
  • ½ pound ground beef
  • subheading: or:
  • ½ pound kielbasa, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning mix
  • or
  • ¼ cup Tone's taco seasoning
  • ½ medium, chopped onion
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
  • Dash celery salt
  • 1 (15-ounce) can stewed tomatoes, with juice
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ sliced, sweet green pepper (optional)
  • ½ sliced, sweet yellow pepper (optional)
  • 2 cup cooked rice (1 cup uncooked)
Steps
  1. Brown ground beef. When almost done add chopped onion and sauté until transparent and hamburger is done.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, except peppers and rice, and mix well. Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
  3. Add rice and mix well. Simmer an additional 10 minutes turning occasionally and keeping an eye on liquid level (don’t let all the liquid cook out and burn the rice).
  4. Top with sweet peppers last 5 minutes of cooking to heat peppers.
