Cajun Chaurice Sausage and Egg Pie
Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 4 to 6 tablespoons ice water

  • 1 pound chaurice sausage, casing removed
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

  • note: . Prepare the Pie Crust:**
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  • Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or fork to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gradually add the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough comes together.
  • Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
