Pasta Puttanesca (Tart's Spaghetti)
Ingredients
  • 8 to 10 oz (225 to 275 g) spaghetti (depending on how hungry you are)

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • salt and freshly milled black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 fresh red chilli, de-seeded and chopped
  • 1 level dessertspoon chopped fresh basil
  • 6 oz (175 g) pitted black olives, chopped
  • 1 heaped tablespoon capers, drained
  • 1 lb (450 g) tomatoes, skinned and chopped
  • 1 rounded tablespoon tomato purée
