Cushman’s Bakery Scotch Cookies (Murder Cookies)

Ingredients
- 1½ cups sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- ½ Cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 3½ cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2½ tsps baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp mace
- ¼ Cup milk
Steps
- Cream sugar, shortening, molasses and egg together.
- Sift dry ingredients and gradually beat in while adding milk.
- Drop by tbsp on greased cookie sheet. Press down lightly with a floured glass.
- Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Notes
- Can use nutmeg instead of mace.
