Dan & Louis’ Oyster Bar Oyster Stew (#1of 2)

Gift for 75th - Dan & Louis Oyster Bar releases its famous recipes.
Ingredients
  • 1 to 2 quarts oyster meat
  • 1/5 pound butter
  • 3 gallons whole milk
  • 1 rounded spoonful salt
  • 1 rounded babyspoonful pepper
  • 3 heaping teaspoons seasoned salt
Steps
  1. Heat the milk in a pan over hot water until it is as hot as possible. Add salt, pepper, and seasoned salt. Then add butter. When all our combined thoroughly, add oyster meat.Simmer ½ hour, or until oysters surface. Skim off oysters and portion into serving bowls. Let  milk mixture simmer 15 to 30 minutes; then ladle over oysters. Top each with a butter patty.
