Ingredients
- 1 to 2 quarts oyster meat
- 1/5 pound butter
- 3 gallons whole milk
- 1 rounded spoonful salt
- 1 rounded babyspoonful pepper
- 3 heaping teaspoons seasoned salt
Steps
- Heat the milk in a pan over hot water until it is as hot as possible. Add salt, pepper, and seasoned salt. Then add butter. When all our combined thoroughly, add oyster meat.Simmer ½ hour, or until oysters surface. Skim off oysters and portion into serving bowls. Let milk mixture simmer 15 to 30 minutes; then ladle over oysters. Top each with a butter patty.
