Ingredients
- 2 tsp butter
- 1 Tbsp flour
- 2-½ cup milk
- 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp grated Swiss cheese (Gruyere would be excellent)
- Pinch freshly grated nutmeg
- ⅛ tsp salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 8 slices French bread (not baguette, but large crusty loaf)
- Dijon mustard
- 8 slices ham (about ½ lb)
- 4 to 8 slices Swiss cheese (again, Gruyere would be excellent)
- Butter
