Pastrami Onion Flat Bread with Garlic Mayo
from Bais Yaakov Cookbook 2
Ingredients
  • 1 package prepared, prebaked pizza crust or flatbread
  • subheading: Crispy pastrami:
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large onions, diced
  • 2 (6 oz) packages pastrami, diced
  • 2 Tbsp teriyaki sauce
  • 2 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 2 Tbsp BBQ sauce
  •  
  • subheading: Garlic Mayo:
  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • ¾ Tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Pinch black pepper
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. subheading: For the crispy pastrami:
  3. Place onions and olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Cook onions, stirring occassionally until golden
  4. Add diced pastrami to skillet and continue cooking about 5 minutes. Add teriyaki sauce, sweet chili, and BBQ and mix until combined.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. subheading: For the Garlic Mayo:
  7. Mix mayo, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.
  8. subheading: To assemble pastrami flatbreads:
  9. Spread garlic mayo over the pizza crust
  10. Sprinkle the pastrami-onion mixture evenly over garlic mayo
  11. Bake, uncovered, 25 to 30 minutes. Slice and serve!
  12. Optional: drizzle additional garlic mayo over pizza before serving.
Notes
  • Can use sriracha/hot sauce instead of sweet chili.
  • Can also try baking at 350 instead of 400 so the dough doesn't get too hard.
