Smoked Chili (Over the Top)
Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 large yellow onions diced
  • 3 large green bell peppers seeded, ribs removed, and diced
  • 3-4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder plus an additional 1 teaspoon
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 28 oz petite diced tomatoes
  • 15.5 oz red kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • subheading: For the ground beef "loaf":
  • 2 ½ pounds (85/15) or (80/20) ground beef (lean beef/percent fat)
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp fresh cracked pepper
  • 1 tsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • ¼ cup dark chocolate morsels
