Ingredients
  • baking apples
  • 1 to 2 tbsp. sugar OR brown sugar/apple
  • 1 tsp. unsalted butter/apple
  • ⅛ tsp. ground cinnamon/apple
  • water
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. Core apples & pare 1-in. strip of skin around middle or upper half of each apple to prevent skin from splitting.
  3. Place apples upright in baking dish & fill middle of each with sugar/brown sugar, butter, & cinnamon.
  4. Fill dish to ¼-in. depth with water.
  5. Bake 30-mins., spooning syrup over apples several times.
  6. Reduce heat to 350° & bake 25-mins. continuing to spoon syrup over apples periodically.
Notes
  • I typically add golden raisins to the middle of the apples as well.
