Tart Frozen Yogurt!
If you're looking for a more healthy dessert option and love your favorite brands of fro-yo then this recipe is for you!

Servings: 4 cups

Servings: 4 cups
Ingredients
  • 3 cups plain yogurt (low fat or whole milk)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (low fat or whole milk)
  • ¼ to ½ cup of sugar (I like mine less sweet and more tart)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon of almond extract
  • Juice of 1 whole lemon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Toppings of your choosing! (optional)
Steps
  1. Whisk together all ingredients until well combined and sugar has dissolved.
  2. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturers instructions. Once the frozen yogurt is the consistency of soft serve you can serve immediately or store in air tight containers in your freezer. You'll know it's ready when it's smooth and stiff (it will harden even more in the freezer).
  3. Serve right away with fruit toppings, if using, or transfer to a container and freeze until ready to eat. If the yogurt stays in the freezer more than a few hours, you may need to let it sit out on the countertop for a bit to soften before serving.
Notes
  • *I would highly recommended using an ice cream maker for this recipe! It takes less than 20 minutes to make! If not, you can churn it yourself by putting the yogurt mixture in an airtight container in the freezer. Take out and stir vigorously every 45 mins to an hour until frozen.
  • **To make a strawberry flavor frozen yogurt you can add: ¼ cup of finely ground freeze dried strawberries to the mixture! Yum! :)
