Pat's Baked Beans

Ingredients
  • 2 28 oz. cans B & M Original Baked Beans (see photo)
  • 16 oz. Fletchers Ends & Pieces Bacon or thick cut bacon, fat trimmed (update: 5/8/22 - I used 8 oz. for 2 cans of beans and it was just fine)
  • 1 Medium onion, chopped
  • ½ c. packed Light Brown Sugar
  • ½ c. Bullseye BBQ Sauce
  • ¼ c. Heinz Ketchup
Steps
  1. Saute bacon and onion until onion is tender and bacon is semi-crisp.
  2. In baking dish, combine beans, brown sugar, BBQ sauce, and ketchup. May need to add more brown sugar, BBQ sauce, and/or ketchup. There should be a definite "tang", according to Pat.
  3. Add bacon and onion to beans.
  4. Chill overnight in fridge.
  5. Bake (uncovered) 45 minutes @ 400° F.
  6. Let stand for 30 minutes (uncovered) before serving.
