Fried Mozzarella
A real treat for CHEESE addicts and *delicious* served with a bit of cold cranberry preserve!
Ingredients
  • Mozzarella ball
  • 2 eggs
  • ½c breadcrumbs
  •

  • cranberry preserve
Steps
  1. Heat some oil for deep frying, a piece of bread dropped in should start sizzling straight away.
  2. Cut a mozzarella ball into slices, about 1cm thick, and pat dry. On one small plate sieve some plain flour and mix in some salt and pepper. Beat 2 eggs in a shallow bowl. And spread fine breadcrumbs over another plate.
  3. Press the cheese in the flour, coating each slice. Then one by one dip each slice in the egg, let any excess drip off quickly, then dip in the breadcrumbs coating it, once again let any loose crumbs fall off. Dip once more in the egg then the breadcrumbs, then place into the hot oil.
  4. Remove the cheese from the oil, and place on kitchen towel to dry off the excess oil.
