Manicotti with Beef (from Annie)

Ingredients
  • 1 pound beef,
  • 1 chopped onion,
  • 4 mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon parsley,
  • salt and pepper,
  • 4 slices, white bread, (trimmed & cubed)
  • ½ cup milk,
  • one egg, beaten,
  • one cup mozzarella, shredded
  • one jar pasta sauce, one cup water
Steps
  1. 1. Brown beef, onion, mushrooms, parsley, salt, and pepper, and set aside
  2. 2. Mix bread and milk & let sit for 2 min.
  3. 3. Add to beef and stir in egg & cheese
  4. 4. Mix sauce &water, spread ½ in pan
  5. 5. Fill manicotti with mix & place in single layer in 10 x 12 pan
  6. 5. Cover with remaining sauce
  7. 6. Bake uncovered at 350° for 45 to 15 minutes. Serve with grated Parmesan
