Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients
  • 1-½ lbs. sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
  • 2 Tbl. butter
  • ½ lb. white mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1-¾ cups beef broth
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 3 to 4 cups cooked noodles (¾ pack)
  • Frozen peas
Steps
  1. Sauté onions and mushrooms in butter, remove to a plate
  2. Cook beef in hot oil until browned
  3. Add 1 cup broth, ketchup, garlic and salt. Bring to boil then simmer covered for 20 minutes
  4. Meanwhile heat water for noodles
  5. Mix flour with the remaining ½ cup broth
  6. When simmer is done, add noodles to boiling water
  7. Add onions, mushrooms to the beef mixture, bring to boil. Stir in flour mixture and heat until thickened, a little thicker than you want in the end.
  8. Add sour cream and keep warm with the lid back on.
  9. Serve beef mixture over noodles with peas on the side
