  • 1 (medium 2 pound) green cabbage

  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce (see note below)
  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • 2 tsp white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch (optional)
