Low Carb Keto General Tso Chicken (Gluten Free, Dairy Free)
Ingredients
  • 1.5 pound chicken thighs (or breast), skinless, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ⅓ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil toasted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • 2 spring onions finely sliced
  • ½ teaspoon sesame seeds
  • subheading: Sauce:
  • ¾ cup chicken broth low sodium
  • 1.5 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce gluten-free (or substitute with coconut aminos)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut aminos
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree unsweetened
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt optional (or to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes
  • subheading: Optional: For a crispy crumb replace baking soda with:
  • ½ cup whey protein
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 tablespoon sesame oil toasted (or avocado oil), to deep fry
