These sliders are reminiscent of Trader Joes Chili Lime Chicken Burgers that have been discontinued.

Servings: 5 to 6

Servings: 5-6
Ingredients
  • 1 lb. ground Chicken
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • ¼ c. Cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 T. Lime juice (one lime)
  • 1 t. Chili powder
  • ¾ t. Sea Salt
  • ½ t. Cumin
  • ½ t. Garlic powder
  • ½ t. Onion Powder
  • ¼ t. Red Pepper flakes
Steps
  1. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Place ground chicken in a medium bowl and add the rest of ingredients on top of it.
  3. Using your hands or a wooden spoon, gently combine everything without making the chicken too mushy.
  4. Press some of the mixture into a ¼ cup dry measuring cup and level it off. Turn the cup over and sharply tap the top edge of the cup onto the pan and the mixture should release onto the parchment paper.
  5. Grill over medium heat until internal temperature reaches 170 degrees, about 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Notes
  • The original Trader Joes burgers contained bits of roasted red pepper. While it did make them more colorful, I left them out as I don't think they contributed much to the overall taste.
  • These sliders freeze well. Place cooked patties on a flat tray in the freezer. When frozen, place in a freezer safe bag to store. Reheat in the microwave.
