Instant Pot Whole Chicken..Fresh or Frozen by Rich Lum
Ingredients
  • 1 cup water or broth
  • 1 seasoned whole chicken..fresh or frozen
  •  
  • Season the way you like.. I usually do 1 plain chicken and 1 seasoned chicken. I like
  • Thyme, rosemary, sage, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder...season inside, outside and under the skin. I use a compound butter under the skin... I put 1 cut up medium onion and a few garlic clove in the cavity
Steps
  1. Add the water/broth to your pot
  2. Place your chicken in..on the trivet
  3. Close and seal your pot
  4. Press manual or poultry or pressure cook and cook for 6 minutes per pound plus an additional 5 minutes
  5. For a six pound bird. 6x6=36+5 = 41
  6. Allow a 10 minute NPR
