Baked acorn squash

Ingredients
  • 2 acorn squash halved
  • 2 T orange juice
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2T butter
  • 2T pure maple syrup
  • 1T packed brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
Steps
  1. Preheat oven 400
  2. Score flesh of squashes with a knife making ¼ of an inch deep cut arrange cut signs up on a full line rimmed baking sheet brush with orange juice and sprinkle with salt roast until lightly brown about 35 minutes
  3. Meanwhile summer remaining ingredients stirring occasionally in a small Skillet over medium heat until smooth in the sugar has dissolved about 3 minutes.
  4. Carefully pour off and discard any liquid from the squash halves brush with glaze return to oven and roast until tender about 20 minutes more spoon any glaze on the baking sheet over the squashes if desired sprinkle with additional salt.
