Ingredients
  • 2 C. Flour
  • ⅓ C. granulated Sugar
  • 2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • ½ C. Butter, cold, cut into ½" pieces
  • 2 Eggs
  • ¼ C. Orange Juice + 1 to 2 Tbsp more
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp. Orange Zest
  • ¾ C. Mini Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Egg White, mixed with Water for a glaze
Steps
  1. Pre-heat the oven to 425°
  2. Butter a 9" round of parchment and place on a sheet pan
  3. In a large bowl combine Flour, Sugar, Baking powder and Salt
  4. Cut the Butter into the Flour mixture using two knives to coarse crumbs
  5. In a small bowl mix together the Juice, Vanilla, Eggs and Zest
  6. Add the wet to the dry, stir to combine
  7. With lightly floured hands, knead in the Chocolate Chips
  8. Pat the sticky dough into an 8" circle on the parchment
  9. Brush the top with the Egg Wash; cut into 8 wedges using a serrated knife
  10. Bake for 20 to 25, testing at 17 minutes; bake until cake tester comes out clean
  11. Place on a wire rack to cool for 10 minutes
