  • ½ cup (1 stick =8 Tbsp.) cold unsalted butter
  • ⅔ cup currants or raisins
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg, room temperature

  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 Tbsp. buttermilk
