tempeh sausage patties
Ingredients
  • Ingredients
  • You'll need a food processor
  • 1 - 8oz package of tempeh (Trader Joes is cheapest)
  • ¾ cup walnuts
  • ½ cup oats
  • ¼ cup vital wheat gluten
  • 3 Tbls nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 teas red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground (or whole) fennel seeds
  • Add and pulse to just combine
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 teas liquid smoke
  • 1 Tablespoons date paste (or maple syrup)
  • Steps
  • Add and pulse till all together
  • Play with spices as you like. Smoked salt or smoked paprika sub for liquid smoke
  • Now you can wrap in a log and refrigerate and slice, or form patties and either bake at 375 (or 350) for like 10 minutes each side, or sautee in oil till browned each side.
  • These brown up nicely and can then be crumbled to use in recipes. Great for dirty rice
