GF Better than Panda Express Orange Chicken
Ingredients
  • ¼ cup gf soy sauce (or tamari)
  • ⅛ cup vinegar of choice
  • ¼ cup orange juice (either fresh squeezed, from a juice bottle/carton, or a few tablespoons of concentrate from the freezer)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (more if needed)
  • Make a slurry with corn starch and ¼ cup of water to thicken sauce.
  • ½ tsp minced garlic
  • Few shakes of crushed red pepper (more if you want more spice)
  • 1 tbs (roughly) orange zest added near the end of the cooking.
  • Garnish with green onions.
  • Typically I double the sauce to feed my family of 6.
  • I like to toss the chicken and sauce at the last second just before serving so the chicken still feels crispy, if I’m frying it. If it’s unbreaded chicken I toss it all together for a quick meal.
