Creamy Chicken and Broccoli Casserole

Ingredients
  • 1 pound cooked chicken breasts
  • 8 servings white rice, cooked
  • 1 crown broccoli
  • parmesan cheese
  • subheading: 4 cups White Cream Sauce:
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • dash pepper
  • 4 cups milk or half-and-half
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. subheading: Prepare white sauce:
  3. In medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter
  4. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth
  5. Gradually stir in milk or half-and-half
  6. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth
  7. subheading: Prepare casserole:
  8. Cut cooked chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces
  9. Cook broccoli, and cut into bite-sized pieces
  10. Grease 13 x 9 casserole dish
  11. Combine everything and put in casserole dish
  12. Cover top with parmesan cheese (we like a generous amount - cover the whole top completely)
  13. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
