German Meatballs in a White Wine Caper Sauce
Ingredients
  • subheading: For The Meatballs:
  • 1 lb of ground beef
  • 1 lb of ground pork
  • 6 green onions, white and green parts, sliced thinly
  • 1 sleeve of ritz crackers crushed
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup of heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon each of garlic and onion powder
  • 1 tablepoon of dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon of nutmeg
  • black pepper to taste
  • subheading: For The Sauce:
  • 1 Packet of McCormick Swedish Meatball mix
  • 2 cups of milk ( I used 2%)
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • ⅛ cup of dry white wine
  • 1 3.5 ounce jar of capers
  • subheading: For The Sauerkraut:
  • 1 14.5 ounce can of sauerkraut
  • 1 cup of crumbled bacon ( I used real bacon bits)
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • ½ tablespoon of caraway seeds
  • 1.5 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • Black Pepper to taste
