Hot Toddy Syrup
Ingredients
  • 2 cups soft peppermints (crushed, but that’s optional)
  • 2 cups local honey
  • 1 cup whiskey (your choice)
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • water
Steps
  1. In a large nonstick pot, add the peppermints and a few tablespoons of water on low heat.
  2. Allow these to begin dissolving; stir constantly. Add more water a little at a time as needed when it becomes too thick to stir.
  3. When all the mints are dissolved, stir in the honey, whiskey, and lemon juice. Bring this to a simmer and leave it there, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes. The mixture should become syrupy.
  4. Remove from heat, let cool slightly and carefully pour into mason jars or a decanter. Store covered.
  5. Take 1 to 2 large spoonfuls every night!
