Meat Loaf from Fannie Farmer Boston Cookbook
Ingredients
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ¾ cup water or milk (I use milk)
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs ( I crumble stale bread or crusts)
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion or dried onion soup mix
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 4 strips bacon, if the meat is lean
