Cajun Shrimp and Grits
Made with chicken pieces instead of shrimp. Added two onions and chopped tomatoes to create more sauce. Very tasty!
Ingredients
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ¾ teaspoon sea salt, divided
  • 1 tablespoon salt-free Cajun seasoning
  • 2 cups 2% milk
  • 1 large garlic clove, peeled
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cup yellow grits or polenta
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
