Butter Bean Soup
Ingredients
  • 1 lb dried Butter beans (large Lima beans)
  • 1 Ham hock
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ Tsp cumin
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 lb Ham, diced
  • 6 cups water or chicken stock
  • 2 Tbsp bacon grease
Steps
  1. Combine all ingredients in Instant Pot except cubed ham.
  2. Fill with about 6 cups water/broth
  3. Cook 35 minutes HP and followed by full natural release.
  4. Remove ham hock/neck bone and add the diced up ham.
  5. Sauté on Low to reduce liquid.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste
Notes
  • I do the first knuckle thing where water is just over beans to my first knuckle when I touch the 1 lb beans
  • No need to soak the beans
  • Counting pressure up and pressure down this took a total of 1 hr 20 min to make
