  • Time: 45 minutes
  • subheading: Dressing ingredients:
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ tsp whole celery seeds
  • 1 tsp salt-free mustard (or ¼ tsp dry mustard)
  • 1 and ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • pinch of dried ground ginger
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • subheading: Slaw ingredients:
  • subheading: The dressing recipe above makes enough for about ½ a pound of vegetables. I do a traditional cabbage slaw so I use mostly cabbage, then add sweet or red onions, apples, and a fresh herb (usually cilantro or parsley). The amount you use of each is pretty flexible but here's what I do:
  • 2 to 3 cups shredded cabbage, green or purple
  • ½ cup red onions, sliced thin
  • ½ cup apples, cut into matchsticks
  • 3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
