Nasi Goreng - Indonesian Fried Rice

Ingredients
- 4 cups cooked rice
- 6 Tbsp. oil
- 2 large onions
- ½ tsp black or white pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp tumeric
- 2 tsp laos (Java galingale root/glanga powder)
- ½ tsp sereh powder or 1 Tbsp. fresh lemongrass
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- Dried chili pepper flakes
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 4 eggs
Steps
- Heat oil in large skillet. Saute onions until golden brown.
- Add pepper, paprika, garlic powder, coriander, cumin, tumeric, galanga powder, salt, and dried chili pepper flakes.
- While preparing onion mixture, brown ground beef.
- Add cooked rice and sauteed meat to onion/spice mixture. Saute over low heat, stirring occasionally to blend flavors, about 10 minutes.
- Beat eggs with fork in a small bowl. Using skillet in which meat was fried, fry eggs in several thin layers. Cut each into strips and serve on top of rice/meat mixture.
