  • 100g mung beans
  • 50g masoor dal (red lentils)
  • 50g plain toovar dal
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive or peanut oil
  • Generous pinch of asafoetida
  • ½ tsp whole cumin seeds
  • 1 to 2 dried hot red chillies
