Slow cooker fall fruit compote

Ingredients
  • 4 large cooking apples
  • 3 large firm pears
  • ⅓ c brown sugar
  • ½ c dried fruit (cranberries/cherries/raisins)
  • 1Tb cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2Tb butter
Steps
  1. Peel and cut apples and pears into 1 in chunks
  2. In a 4 to 6qt slow cooker. Toss all ingredients except butter until combined. Cover slow cooker with lid and cook on low 5 to 6 hours or high 3-3/12 hours.
  3. When done, still in butter and serve over ice cream.
