Classic Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
  • subheading: For the classic sugar cookies:
  • 335 mL (1 ⅓ cup) of Neilson unsalted butter, softened
  • 125 mL (½ cup) of granulated sugar
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 23 mL (1 ½ tbsp) of Neilson 18% Table Cream
  • 5 mL (1 tsp) of vanilla
  • 625 mL (2 ½ cup) of all-purpose flour
  • subheading: For the royal icing:
  • 1L (4 cups) of confectioners' sugar
  • 75 to 90 mL (5 to 6 tbsp) of Neilson 18% Table Cream*
  •  
  • For stiff icing: Use 15 mL (1 tbsp) less cream
  • To thin icing: Add 3 mL (½ tsp) of cream at a time until you reach proper consistency
