Whole Grain {Homemade} Rice-A-Roni
Ingredients
  • ¾ cup whole wheat spaghetti noodles, broken into ¼ to ½ inch pieces
  • 4 Tbls. butter or olive oil (you can even use a little less if you are watching calories)
  • ½ red or white onion, diced small
  • 1 Tbls. chicken boullion (I used half beef and ½ chicken to add more flavor)
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbls. dried chives or dried parsley
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 ½ cup short grain brown rice
  • 3 cups hot water
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
