Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion - chopped
  • 1 can fire roasted tomato
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 can light kidney beans
  • 1 can dark kidney beans
  • 1 Jalapeno -sliced
  • 1 serrano pepper -sliced
  • 3 cloves
  • 3 T chili powder
  • 2 T onion powder
  • 3 T cumin
  • 1 T paprika
  • 1 tsp chipotle powder
  • ½ T salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp baking soda
Steps
  1. 1. In Dutch oven sauté chopped onion until translucent.
  2. 2. Add ground beef cook until beef is no longer pink.
  3. 3. Add peppers and garlic, sauté until slightly soft.
  4. 4. Add seasoning (leave the baking soda out) cook until well blended - do not let burn.
  5. 5. Add kidney beans, tomatoes, and tomato sauce. If need be add a little water at this point to blend well. Let simmer with lid on for at least 30 minutes.
