Beer Battered Fish and Chips with Tartare Sauce
Ingredients
  • 6 white fish fillets (hake)
  • 3 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into chips
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and cut into chips
  • Sunflower oil, for deep frying
  • 250g flour and extra for dusting
  • 285 ml cold beer
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • subheading: FOR THE TARTARE SAUCE:
  • 1 cup of good quality mayonnaise
  • ¼ red onion, finely chopped,
  • 3 large gherkins, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp capers, chopped
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Combine all the sauce ingredients, cover and leave in the fridge for a few hours.
