Oven Roasted Pork chops
Oven Roasted Porkchops

Ingredients
  • 2 pork chops (about ¾-inch thickness)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • garlic powder to taste
Steps
  1. Gather the ingredients.
  2. Oven-roasted pork chops ingredients
  3. Heat the oven to 375 F.
  4. Place a lightly oiled 12-inch cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Place skillet over the heat
  6. Rub the pork chops with olive oil and then sprinkle all over with salt and freshly ground black pepper. If desired, sprinkle them lightly with a little garlic powder and ground thyme, as desired.
  7. Rub pork chops with seasoning
  8. Sear the chops in the hot skillet for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until nicely browned.
  9. Sear pork chops on both sides
  10. Transfer the skillet with the pork chops to the oven and roast for about 6 to 8 minutes, depending on thickness.
  11. Transfer skillet to roast in the oven
  12. The pork chops should register at least 145 F on an instant-read thermometer in the thickest part of the meat.
  13. Finished oven-roasted pork chops
  14. Serve and enjoy when pork chops are finished cooking.
Notes
  • If you don't have a cast-iron skillet, sear the chops in a skillet and then move to a baking dish (if the skillet is not oven safe to 375 F) to finish roasting.
