Sausage Rolls
Ingredients
  • About 4 large pork or lamb sausage
  • 4 pieces of cheese cut to fit into sausage
  • Rosemary, or Red pepper and garlic or other seasoning
  • 3 sheets of Phyllo pastry
Steps
  1. Cook sausage in a covered 4 qt. measuring cup for 2½ minutes. Remove sausage to a plate and let cool a couple of minutes.
  2. Cut sausage almost in half. Insert cheese and sprinkle with seasoning.
  3. Lay on 2 or 3 sheets of Phyllo pastry. Use 2 sheets for small sausage and 3 for large. Line up in a row about 2 inches from edge.
  4. Roll up, then cut into sections between the sausage links. Lay seam side down on a stoneware pan or parchment paper on a baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for about 35 to 40 minutes.
Notes
  • If using smaller sausage use only 2 sheets of Phyllo pastry.
