Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Ingredients
  • 1 to 1½ loaves of french bread
  • 8 eggs beaten
  • 3½ c milk for 9x13 pan reduce to 3
  • 1 c sugar divided
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 6 to 8 apples
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • butter

  • subheading: Cider syrup:
  • ½ c sugar
  • 4 tsp cornstarch
  • ½tsp cinnamon'1 cup apple cider
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp butter
Steps
  1. spray lasagna pan with veg spray, or 9x13 pan
  2. Arrange slice French bread in the dish.
  3. Beat together eggs, ½ c sugar milk and vanilla.
  4. Pour ½ of mixture over bread. Dot with butter.
  5. Peel , core and slice the apples and arrang on top of the bread. Pour remaining liquid over all.
  6. Combine ½c sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and sprinkle on top.
  7. Refrigerate covered at least 2 hours, but better overnight.
  8. Bake uncovered in preheated 350 degree oven on highest rack available.
  9. Let stand 10 min before serving
  10. For the syrup Combine all dry ingredients. Mix cider lemon juice and stir into dry ingredients. Bring to boil and cook 2 min. stir in butter until melted. Serve hot
