  • 1 ½ cups chicken stock (or vegetable stock)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed into a slurry with 1 tablespoon water)
  • 1 pound firm tofu (cut into ¾-inch/2 cm cubes)
  • 1 scallion (chopped)
