Fried Cabbage Patties (Better than Meat!)
Cabbage patties recipe - crispy on the outside, soft inside. These fried cabbage balls/patties/cutlets are easy to make and super delicious.

Ingredients
  • subheading: Cabbage Patties:
  • 2Lbs (26.45oz or 750g) cabbage, Coarsely shredded
  • 2 onions, Chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅓ cup (56g) flour
  • 2 garlic cloves, Minced
  • ¼ bunch coriander (Cilantro), chopped
  • 1 teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying, Canola, or Vegetable
  •  
  • subheading: Yogurt Sauce :
  • ½ cup Yogurt
  • ½ tsp minced Garlic
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ½ tbsp Lemon Juice
  • ½ tsp Parsley, dried
Steps
  1. subheading: Cabbage Patties:
  2. Remove wilted outer leaves rom Cabbage, Core, then shred the Cabbage coarsely in a food Processor fitted with the shredding disk.
  3. Cook in boiling water for 7 to 8 minutes, then drain completely. Set aside.
  4. Cook the onions for few minutes, then add minced garlic. Cook over medium-low heat until onions become golden.
  5. In a large bowl place cooked and drained cabbage, cooked onions, coriander, eggs, flour, thyme, salt and pepper. mix all the ingredients well until incorporated. If needed add more semolina. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan to medium-high heat.
  7. Grab about a heaping Tablespoon of the mixture, about the size of a ping-pong ball, and make it round and flat shape. If it is too watery, add a little flour.
  8. Fry over medium-high heat for 2 to 3 minutes for each side or until golden. Transfer to a paper towel to get rid of excess oil.
  9. Serve with the Yogurt Sauce.

  11. Mix together in a small bowl, ½ cup Yogurt, ½ tsp Minced garlic, ¼ tsp Salt, ½ tsp Parsley, ½ tbsp Lemon juice.
